Compensating Bearings

Inexpensive angle misalignment and loose fit compensation

"An incorrect shaft and housing fit can result in a seriously reduced service life of bearings. Conventional deep groove ball bearings always require a high degree of accuracy to ensure quality standards (e.g., H6). This level of quality cannot be adhered to in forming processes and usually requires further expensive turning, milling and grinding processes. Tolerance-compensation bearings save on follow-up processes. Apart from applications where very high rotational speeds are necessary you can save on follow-up processes by using ROLLAX tolerance-compensating bearings.

These bearings compensate, in part, for your application tolerances saving hard cash.

Depending on the field of application, ROLLAX compensating bearings swallow up to 0.1 mm (corresponding h15) of the shape tolerance of shaft and housing. This allows the use of drawn or turned shafts without the need for further finishing processes. Making savings of a number of Euro per application.

Compensation is achieved by the use of additional elements in the inner and outer ring respectively.

Tolerance and rigidity are individually adjustable as required.

Angle misalignment compensation elements

In addition to compensating bearings, other compensation elements for correcting angle misalignment, up to one degree, are available. This allows that some degree of coaxial errors, in the application, be tolerated. As such, through holes in a clamping position, are no longer necessary in your application.

ROLLAX high tolerance compensating bearings

The ability to compensate for errors and the requirement for rigidity in bearings is often a conflict of design goals. That is why every application needs to be carefully considered and evaluated with a view to the use of compensating bearings. We would be happy to help you find your ideal solution. Call us.
