For the first time, the Bielefeld University Society has conferred a prize – the Jörg Schwarzbich Inventor Award – on researchers from the University of Bielefeld. To mark the occasion, the prize was conferred on two research teams, both of which have developed environment friendly manufacturing processes. One, for the so called Nitriles, (Chemistry faculty) and the second for a natural dye with applications in cosmetics and animal nutrition (Biology faculty). Both teams are researching at the Centre for Bio-Technology (CeBiTec).
